Which heat setting for your hair?
Start low and turn the heat up only if your hair doesn’t straighten in one or two passes. As a starting point:
- Fine, thin, coloured or damaged hair: 160–180°C.
- Normal or wavy hair: 180–200°C.
- Thick, coarse or very curly hair: 200–220°C.
Use a heat protection spray, work on dry hair, and straighten small sections so each one needs fewer passes. Too much heat, or ironing the same section again and again, is what damages hair.
